    What distro is best for a media player/DVD player laptop


    I wonder if anyone can help, I have an old compaq m700 laptop with DVD etc, 192 MB RAM 700Mhz processor. I would like to use the laptop as aDVD/AVI/MP3 dedicated Player to link to a VGA projector. Can anyone recommend the best distro ?

    You need something lightweight. I would suggest you try the Fluxbox or XFCE versions of Linux Mint 5. It comes with many preinstalled multimedia codecs.
