    Most USB gamepads will work with the joystick driver. It's been a while since I've used one, but I have a Gravis USB gamepad (6-button) that works fine. If you do a search for "joystick" in your package manager you should come up with a few packages. It may take some fiddling to get the buttons assigned properly.
