    jre: install the linux rpm?

    Note that it's generally best to install software using the default package tool for your distribution when possible.

    sorry i didnt realise =(

    When i try and install java runtime i get this message any one know what it means?

    UnZipSFX 5.50 of 17 february2002, by Info-ZIP (Zip-Bugs@losts.wku.edu).
    inflating: jre-6u12-linux-i586.rpm
    error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lip/rpm/__db.000

    Any ideas?

    please try this way :
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY'


    rm /var/lib/rpm/__db*
    rpm --rebuilddb
