what audio player?
I'm really stuck on my choice of media player. Can anyone recommend me one?
My requirements are:
Playback of up to 8ch, up to 24 bit, up to 96kHz FLAC
Completely skinnable, including the ability to use album art display and the other image types usable under the Vorbis comment spec
Able to tag files with more than one artist
Bit perfect output (i know most do this, but some still don't, eg WMP)
Keyboard shortcuts and ideally interface possible with LIRC
Interface with iPod, including compress-and-transfer (necessary if you're using lossless files!)
Gapless playback
Folder watch (auto library update on folder contents)
I don't care what memory and cpu it uses, or whether it needs WINE, mac-on-linux or runs natively, or what it supports besides FLAC (I have no need for *casts, video, streaming media etc). I don't even care if I have to write a plugin myself, as long as it isn't a whole media player or massive project, or use a workaround. At the moment though I'm struggling to find any anything at all useful.
Any and all help hugely appreciated

That was unhelpful. Can anyone answer my question please?

I think your best bet is to try a bunch of music players and see which one works best for you. I don't know of any that fulfill all of your requirements.
My personal favorites are gmusicbrowser and ncmpcpp with MPD.

I'd agree, you really need to try a few to decide which one works best for you.
Rythmbox
Amarok
Songbird
Totem
Here are several more to choose from.
