sound card not detected
i am using red hat 9. i installed mplayer. when i select mp3 file to play.it gives me messege."supported files not found"
i check in system config sound card it gives sound card not detected.
i gave modprob -lt soundcard it shows various files.
plz suggest how i can listen music in my pc.

Is there any reason for using RH9? Its an obsolete distro and doesn't support latest hardware well.
Install latest version of Fedora or CentOS. Both are RedHat based and free to download/install.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
