DVD Rippers
Hi.
What is the fastest, open-source DVD ripper?

I've only used Handbrake, but here's an article from Linux.com on the subject. It is a couple of years old though, so I don't know how correct that information still is.
Hmm, I didn't even know that a GUI for handbrake existed.Stumbling around the 'net:

It depends upon what format you want to rip the DVD to. For my $$ (0), ffmpeg is the bee's knees. It allows you to specify how many threads to use to transcode a video file (I use 1 per core) and it can convert just about any format into any other. IE, convert mpeg2 (dvd) to mp4, wmv, mpeg1, mkv, flv (flash), etc.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
