    Use Still Image Webcam in Linux

    Hi!! I'm trying to buy a very good quality image webcam for linux, but i don't really know if the function still image works in linux.

    I want to talk pictures with the software and that all the functions of the webcam works in linux.

    PLEASE HELP ASAP

    Cheese and UCView works fine for me.

    Best way to buy a webcam is to make sure it is UVC complient. You can't go wrong with a UVC complient webcam.

    Where do you live? If here in the U.S. then you should try bestbuy, believe it or not every time I go to bestbuy and go through there electronics I always find at least one product that list to be compatible with linux on the system requirements on the box.
