Hey guys I just wanted a quick question I am a tabletop war gamer (warhammer etc) collecting painting etc is what I do so I was hoping there are some linux games based on tabletop war games, not war hammer but anything similar

turn based, dice rolls, stats...etc

You should probably check out "Battle for Wesnoth".

Another good one is MegaMek - java based clone of battletech. There are servers out there with players, but you need to run java and not the iced-tea variant.

Just untar the sun java to a directory and run it from there: $JAVA_HOME/bin/java -jar MegaMek.jar
