Question How to make a time-lapse video in linux?

Hello, I would like to know how to make a time-lapse video in linux. I am used to using premiere pro cs5 but my mac in the shop. I have a 20.3GB .mov file and a high end workstation with opensuse installed. Any ideas or info on software that is compatible with such large files and .mov video formats? thanks. Also, i have experience using the linux terminal if it is necessary.

Check out Cinelerra and kdenlive. These are both high-end video processing tools which should do what you want. If the fact that your movie is in .mov format, then just use ffmpeg to convert it to a more convenient format.
