hi i have suse 9.2 and i want to find codecs for divx , xvid , ogg , mkv , wma 9 , but what i find is some german sites which i cant understand

i found some codec packs but only 1 was rpm and that i could install
the others is all-20041107.tar.bz2 but i cant install it

PS should i use mplayer or xine?

tar xvfj all-blah-blah.tar.bz2
cd all-blah-blah

then read the README or the INSTALL file for help after that

they r just codecs..... i can only extract them

if you look in the README, it should tell you what to do with them.

lakerdonald i dont really care if mplayer kicks xine's ass! this' like which distro is better. we all have preferences. we can't close our minds to something like open-source.. . it seems like an irony.. . that's the beauty of it, you can try as many flavors as you want. have both of them. provides the same thing for me - let me watch movies!!! just as long as it's not M$hit media player.. . say the latter is better or even suggest that you use it and then you'd really be a true blasphemer.. .
