I have... No Mic
DapperDan might get that O'Brother reference

Anyway, I have no mic input. This is a class IV bummer, as I need one. I have both front and rear mic inputs, and neither work. I just can't get any sound in. Using Audacity to record.
Asus nforce2 motherboard with on board sound running Mandrake 10.1. Alsa config picks it and plays everything fine. Seems to be a rather common problem that's easily solved by simply un-muting the mic in kmix. Alas, I have tried that but it still doesn't work.
Techiemoe, do you have mic? You've got the closests board to mine (I think). Anyone else can feel free to offer advice too!
Thanks in advance,

Update... Using alsamixer, I managed to get the rear mic working by selecting the mic-in as surround/LFE option. Anyone know what LFE means?
I still can't get the front mic working.
