    Is Play on Linux legal?

I want to know whether running windows games on linux using wine and play on linux legal, i.e., if I am violating any copyrights by running a windows only game on linux. Sorry if my question sounds stupid because I am still quite new to linux.

As long as you own the games, it should not be a problem. But I am not a lawyer.

Just dont expect any windows program to run flawlessly or even run at all.
They were written and tested against a windows environment, not against wine.

I do not pirate games.Still it would have been better if I knew where I could buy games in non-digital form that run natively on linux from a local video game store. This is because I like buying physical copies of games rather than buying them digitally.

imho, the best way of gaming on linux is steam.

That said and being a gamer myself, I installed and used SteamOS for a few weeks for a test drive.
Ultimately, I went back to booting windows on my gaming pc.
SteamOS kind of works on my pc, but with loss of performance, stability, useability and variety of games.
