    Lubuntu recognizing Mp3 player

Lubuntu system.isnt recognizing Philips Mp3 player. How would I get it to find the Mp3 that's plugged in through USB? Tried banshee, rhythmbox and many others but it's not showing my Mp3 player anywhere or giving any option to see it, add it, send or receive to and from it . My computer just isn't acknowledging it at all. The USB wire and port work fine also. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Can you set a "MTP mode" from the device settings? What's the model of the mp3 player?

    do this:
UNplug the mp3 player from your computer.
    wait ~30s.
then open a terminal and type
    Code:
    dmesg
this should give you many lines of output.
make a note of the last 10 lines or so.
now plug IN the mp3 player.
wait ~30s, and don't do anything else with the computer.
    then type again
    Code:
    dmesg
you should see that there's a few lines that have been added to the previous output.
    post those lines here.

    also post the output of
    Code:
    lsusb
bonus points if you manage to put them in code tags.
