Config.cfg problem with Quake 2
Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could help me solve this minor thing.
I installed Quake2 on my Debian Sarge system and I could get it to run, but the problem is that when I quit the game, I get an error message saying that config.cfg could not be saved. The thing is that I have to configure my keys, the screen and everything again when I want to play. Do any of you know how to write config.cfg? This is really annoying.

You (and Quake 2) must have write permissions on that file. Set the write bit for all users on that file, or change the owner of the config.cfg file to your username.
Same with the save directory, if you want to save games.

But I don't even have a config.cfg! I think the game should create it automatically when I quit the game, but it doesn't...

Do you have write permissions on the Quake directory and its subdirectories?
Quake needs them to write it.
