*.WMV DivX encoded? Strange quirk in *.WMV playback.
Okie dokie. I've got some files I'm trying to play.
They are supposivly *.WMV files. However, they're also labled as DivX encoded in their titles.
Now, trying to play these in Xine, I get some interesting errors.
from Xine.Code:The source seems encrypted, and cannot be read (Media Stream Scrambled/Encrypted)
From a similar file I get a different set of problems.
From ShellCode:[wmv1 @ 0x1b81aec]invalid picture type [wmv1 @ 0x1b81aec]header damaged [wmv1 @ 0x1b81aec]error, slice code was 1 "etc for 80 lines or so"
Now, before you ask. Yes, there is a Win32 folder in /usr/lib/win32.
Contents as follows:
Now, I don't know if it's something I don't have configured correctly, or if the WMV DivX encryptions aren't fully supported yet. But I'd really like a clue as to where to go from here.Code:3ivxdmo.dll divxdec.ax lhacm.acm QuickTimeEssentials.qtx acelpdec.ax divx.dll m3jpeg32.dll QuickTimeInternetExtras.qtx apmpg4v1.apl huffyuv.dll m3jpegdec.ax QuickTime.qts apmpg4v1.dll i263_32.drv m3jpegenc.ax tm20dec.ax asusasv2.dll iccvid.dll mcmjpg32.dll tssoft32.acm asusasvd.dll icmw_32.dll mpg4c32.dll voxmsdec.ax ativcr2.dll imaadp32.acm mpg4ds32.ax vp31vfw.dll avimszh.dll imc32.acm msadp32.acm win32 avizlib.dll ir32_32.dll msg711.acm wma9dmod.dll divxa32.acm ir41_32.dll msgsm32.acm wmadmod.dll divx_c32.ax ir41_qc.dll msh261.drv wmspdmod.dll divxc32.dll ir50_32.dll msms001.vwp wmv8ds32.ax divxc32f.dll ir50_qc.dll msvidc32.dll wmv9dmod.dll divxcfvk.dll ir50_qcx.dll mvoiced.vwp wmvdmod.dll divxcvki.ax l3codeca.acm qdv.dll wmvds32.ax divxcvki.dll l3codecx.ax qtmlClient.dll
Thanks.

Well, the question is now moot. But for the record it was running Fedora Core 3 and a recent distro of Xine.
I've jumped to Mandrake over the weekend, so if anyone's still scratchin' their head at this one--I'm still curious to know what'cha thought up.

divxc32.dll
I feel for you too. I have been searching for a week for help on the same thing.
I am using Suse Pro 9.3.

Maybe your files have DRM, they cannot be played in Linux if this is the case look here www.defectivebydesign.org

maybe a DRM
Well I am a noob to Linux. I do not know if there is a DRM and do not know how to check.
Adam - I went to this site and installed the files and it works for me. I guess I need a lot more library/codec.

Note:
My Suse Pro 9.3 is a newly installed with very little installed or setup. Just Apache, PHP 4, MySQL, Firefox, NaviCat, and Thunderbird.

If you bought them from the internet, they have DRM
