Quake 1 File Not Found
Linux Newbie:
Having a problem installing Quake 1 on Slack 10.1
When I try to run either quake.x11 (within X) or squake (console) I receive "No Such File or Directory"
I am running this program as root and have added my quake directory to my $PATH (/usr/local/games/quake). I am trying to run these commands from the quake directory.
I do note that if I simply run quake.x11 the response if command not found. However if I run ./quake.x11 I receive No such file or directory.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

What Quake client are you trying to run? There are many out there. The one I use is FuhQuake, and there is a very easy scripted installer available for it on http://www.liflg.org

Thanks for the reply techieMo!
I have been following directions from:
http://www.gamesdistrict.co.uk/menu/...es/linuxquake/
along with the Quake How To (essentially the same)
Both the clients I have been trying are from idsoftware's ftp site?
(quake.x11 and squake). It may be that they are just too old to run on the latest Slack build?
The link to Loki's site looks good, I will give it a go....
Thanks Again!
