Xine - No MRL?
OK. I upgraded the kernel in VL SOHO 5.0.1 and now whenever I fire up Xine, I get the following error. Xine: There is no MRL. What did I bork up this time?

Hi retired1af,
Everytime I open Xine, I get the same message in the title bar but Xine still works fine. Did you get this message after trying to open a file?
Hope that helps,

I wish. Got it immediately upon firing up xine. I was able to finally play a DVD after some tinkering, but it wouldn't play properly. Maxed out my CPU and started dropping frames.
On a more positive note, I was able to fire up gxine and it worked pretty well.

Any particular reason you are using xine? Why not try MPlayer or vlc?

For some reason, mplayer has never worked properly on this machine even after a fresh install of the distro.
VLC? Never tried it.Registered Linux user #384279
