which distro is best for multimedia?
I am very new to Linux. I am currently running Fedora Core 2. KDE desktop mostly on my Laptop. I would like to use the DVD drive in my laptop but FDC2 doesn't seem to have support built in for playing them. Everything I install or try to always seems to need something else installed before it will work. Are there any distros out there that have better multi-media support already installed?

Audio/Multimedia Linux based distro
There are quite a few and you can have a look at the list of the distros at
Distors
and select a disto with the best ranking and having all the facilites you require.
However, I wud like to suggest one, which I think has DVD support (not sure)
DOWNLOAD AGNULA
is one distro based on Live CD and has good support of multimedia applications.

Knoppix is also good but not excellent and may not contain a few other applications...
However, you may check yourself, You can download the iso file of knopppix from
KNOPPIX
Must have good applications with the latest kernel.
