    Differences between Mplayer packages?

    I was just wondering what are the actuall differences between the -386, -586 and -686 packages for Mplayer. I have the -386 package right now, and my processor is a Celeron 2.8 ghz. Would I benefit from any other package or should I stick with what I have? Which package do you recommend?

    You should use the i686 one. It's more optimized for your processor.

    Jup, that's what I installed. Though 686 turned out to just be a dummy package for 586.
