    SOund Problems in REd Hat 8.0

    HI

    I am having problems with my sound in Linux.
    I have an ACP '97 onboard sound card but it does not emit any sound in Linux. It works in Windows (dual boot). The OS can detect it and i have set the volume to max but i still can't hear anything.

    I am a total Newbie to Linux. Please Help

    try running 'alsaconfig' as root.
