    using sound in window managers

    I'm using Fedora Core 3 with Window Maker .9.1. When I install Gnome, KDE, or XFCE with fedora, it sets it up so that my speakers work. but when I don't install them, my speakers won't work. does anybody have a suggestion of a program to install so that my sound will work?
