so i just downloaded planeshift, but i duno how to run a .run file, i tried in counsle and it said permsion denied (even in root) any ideas?...

do you have your permissions set to execute...btw its not a very good game, maybe oneday it will be, starting out you will run into tons of people camping the rats, which are the only thing that you can gain on and survive when yoiu first make your charecter

you will have access to everything as root, but you still need execute permission, sometimes files just have owner access to read and write, but not execute.

well if you are in a gui, you should be able to open your file manager and right click on the file and go to permissions, in kde at least, and make sure that there are ticks in the execute boxes.

p.s. once you get everything setup you will have to add your user, even if root, to the games group to play this.

hmm, not so sure, I guess its not finding the install script, you would think that it would just unpack, maybe since you are using fedora you can find an rpm that will do everything for you, I know that gentoo has an ebuild that works flawlessly with emerge planeshift; so more than likely you should be able to find an rpm, not sure since its a binary but can you right click it and extract here?
