Is anyone here able to view these WMV files in Linux?
I have a WMV file which worked fine in the native windows media player. However, when I try to view it in Linux (Mandrake 10.2) using either Totem or Kaffeine, the players crash when they open the file. I thought maybe it was the general wmv format which caused the problem, but other wmv files I've tried work fine in both players.
I thought maybe there was some minor corruption introduced into the file when it was originally emailed to me, so I googled the file name to see if I could find the original. I found the file on the web, along with another similar one (both FLIR tapes from planes showing US tactical air support of special forces troops). I know the subject matter won't be well received by all, so I thought I'd explain what the files are to spare those who would be offended. Anyway, for some reason, the second file does the same thing as well. Here are the links:

http://www.vampirebat.com/war/AC130_GunshipMed.wmv
Can anyone here view either of these files without the player crashing? If so, could you let me know what player you are using and any other hints you might have?

Yeah I was able to watch them on SuSE9.3 with the Mplayer Firefox plugin
And I used to have that AC130 clip, and watched it on several flavours , Mandriva, Slax, Knoppix, Morphix et al. all with Mplayer, Actually I'm not sure about Slax.

Thanks!
Many thanks to both of you! I found the VLC RPM for Mandriva on Pbone, but it wouldn't install due do dependancy issues. However, then I tried installing Mplayer and it went without a hitch. Now I can view both files.
Thanks again!
