can anyone list some of the best linux codecs that can make thing easier while wierd formats like .mov or .mp4 or .dat on linux system.
I know mplayer plays most but still its better to know something more .The codecs pack with mplayer is that enough to can we install a few more.
Its just a query but still you people can help me.

there is a win32 codec pack about, that helps with things like divX and wma......
