Which USB TV should I buy?
Hi,
I am considering buying a USB 2 TV card for my laptop. I am running both Windows XP dual-booted with Fedora Core 3. WinXP has no problem with any hardware I get (really looking forward to the day when WinXP is replaced by Linux in the last sentence!). But i want a device that can work with FC3 linux as well.
I am considering those two:
- Hauppauge WINTV USB2 NICAM. (link) - around 90 Euros.
- Pinnacle PCTV PMC 100E Liitä USB 2.0 (link) - around 110 Euros.
The nice thing about them is that they don't need separate power supply, all from the usb 2 port. It is not nice to travel with a laptop with many power supplies!
Has anyone bought any of those and gave it a go on linux? What about linux tv tuner software, and recommendations? I've been reading lots of posts and supported-cards lists and it is helpfull. But it can be somewhat confusing and contradicting sometimes!
