What are some good suggestions for simple to set up and use movie players (able to play .avi files in particular) in Mandrake 9.2 ?

Ive tried using xine atm, but setting it up and configuring it seems way beyond my newbiness to Linux atm, so Im looking for someting not as complex.

9.2 was quite good, you should have xine-ui, totem and mplayer on your install discs if they aren't already on for you. Don't worry about the CLI for the moment at least. I always found Mandrake able to handle DivX and vanilla avi out of the box using the inbuilt players.
