    wine/cedega + steam/cs

    Hi There! =)

I am wery new with Linux, heard so much great about it.
The only problem I have with, Linux is gaming.
    I am a Counter-Strike type =P

    I'we tried wine, not working.
    Tried cedega, not working.

I tried to Install steam on wine...

    Wine message:

    [NixtoN@localhost Desktop]$ wine SteamInstall.exe
    fixme:richedit:RichEditANSIWndProc WM_SETFONT: stub
    fixme:richedit:RichEditANSIWndProc WM_SETFONT: stub

    fixme:shell:IShellLinkA_fnGetPath (0x77e8abf: WIN32_FIND_DATA is not yet filled.
err:menubuilder:InvokeShellLinker failed to fork and exec wineshelllink

And the popup at the end of the install:

    Steam.exe (main exception): Win32
StructuredException at 200847EC : Attempt to read from viritual address 96 without appropriate access rights.

So I gave up wine and tried Cedega...

    Cedega message:

    [NixtoN@localhost Desktop]$ rpm -iv Cedega-20050217-cvs.i586.rpm
    error: Failed dependencies:
    wine conflicts with Cedega-20050217-cvs.i586

So if anyone know what the problem is plz reply...

    using CF4 btw =)

    uninstall wine first with
    Code:
    rpm -e packagename

now install cedega. You need the newest version for steam to work according to

cedega runs cs 1.6 very nicely. Wine doesnt, cedega runs the HL2 series somewhat ******, but its still prety good if you have a good video card
