Network media center for linux?
i have about 200 GBs of media (tv/movies/video) on my computer that i would really like to view on the "family" tv. I could use the s-video out on my video card, but that means moving my computer downstairs.
i just realized that there are a number of products on themarket that will streem my media, wirelessly to my tv. The server software for this however is, of cource, for windows
.

that is what I am looking at. the thing is awesome, it plays Xvid videos, AND has a usb port to read from a camera or usb drive! i guess the one thing that would make it perfect is if I could run the server on my linux machine, instead of windows. I suppose I could try running it with wine, but I haven't had much success with that.
any ideas? are there linux projects for this that I am unaware of?
Thanks guysRegistered Linux User # 392752

I could be wrong, but i believe there's some out there made by other companies that simply read off a share, which in linux would be a samba share.
As i say, i could be wrong, but i believe there are some out there."I am not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings"
