Slow Performance in Most Games
I expirience some terrible low framerates in almost every moderne-graphics game i have tried yet. An exception is prboom, though it will have an framerate of 10 FPS when in 800x600. Also quake2 can run in software mode at an almost acceptable speed when in 320x200.
I use Debian woody, mostly, (it seems the same in FreeBSD,) on a 466MHz Celeron with Matrox g400. It is the same wether i start the Matrox drivers or not, but i know they must work somewhat because i can see the texture filtering in 3D games.
So, have anyone encountered the same type of problems? I know there must be something wrong somewhere, because often it seems slower than Amiga 500.

Your computer is too slow to run modern 3D games, I think, try upgrading if you can

"Mine is bigger than yours" ehh. That's not helping very much. :P
466MHz is quite enough for playing 3D games in Windows.
But i admit that my definition of 'modern' migth be a bit outdated, heh.

466mhz might be okay if you have a good amount of RAM and a good graphics card. Also, have you tried adjusting the graphics quality from within the games?
