Don't know why, but all system and program sounds (excluding mp3's and such) are skipping. It will play and then repeat itself 5 or 6 times. Someone help!...

My sound is skipping
Don't know why, but all system and program sounds (excluding mp3's and such) are skipping. It will play and then repeat itself 5 or 6 times. Someone help!

Not very helpfull but.....
interesting problem, interesting problem, interesting problem, interesting problem....sorry couldn't help myself.
I'm only really posting because a friend of mine had a similar problem with SuSE 9.3 on a brand new ASUS mother board with onboard sound. Never figured out the problem, but it went away when he put a sound card on the thing. Before he gave up and bought the sound card we were thinking it might be a driver issue with the onboard sound.
Din't help much, but they say misery loves company...
