DVD editing

are there any movie editors which can import DVD movies (from my DVD camera) and be able to devide them into scenes so I can edit them.

something similar to Sony Vegas ... I used that in windows but I dont think it will work with Linux !

on mandriva LE2005 there is Kdenlive but it doesnt seem to work properly with me.
it crashed everytime I want to move the clips into the timeline.

I don't have a dvd camera. Have you tried out:
