ok, i found the fix. i removed alsa altogether and converted my entire system to oss. not only did it fix my doom 3 problem, it also fixed a problem i had of getting 5.1 sound to work. now i just need to see if it also fixed my problem of low mic volume.

does anybody know the oss tools and stuff? like the equivelent of alsamixer or alsaconfig.

doom 3 is probobly about 3 times scarier with sound. this game is the best.

is there any full conversion mods for doom 3 like there are for HL and ut2004?
