I want to do some recording (guitar, vocals etc) can anyone recommend any free powerful recording software for Linux?
Anything that will rival Garage Band (apple), Cakewalk Music Maker etc.
Thanks...

For just recording and mastering, Audacity is great
If you want to do a bit more, look to Muse, Rosegarden, Hydrogen (awsome drum machine) etc...
Im not so sure for SuSE, but I'm using fedora, and I have installed the planet ccrma repo, its got loads of audio software, and a real time kernel...

Ardour for multitrack recording. Coming from cakewalk there will be a bit of a learning curve to get over. There is also an up and coming multitrack program called Wired that looks very promising.
