    Best distribution to use for game server?


    Sup yall,

    Im a noob to Linux. Just wondering where to begin. What dist of Linux do yall reccomend for running a game server and where might I find info on this subject. Unreal 2004 in specific but any info is appreciated.

    Any major distribution should work fine for this, but you might want to consider one of the "ligthweight" distros that doesn't run a lot of services in the background such as Gentoo, Slackware or customized Debian. The learning curve for Gentoo is pretty steep though, just FYI.

    I recommend Gentoo personally...if you're willing to get it set up.
