    Question FlashPlayer Plugin Replacement For Firefox


    I can play most FLV (FlashVideo) video using mplayer.

    Unfortunately several website need FlashPlayer 8 or 9 plugins (not available on Linux).

    Is it possible to replace FlashPlayer plugin on Firefox with Mplayer or other programs for playing FlashPlayer 8 /9 videos?

    there is an open source version of flashplayer however it is only compatible with up to version 7. currently Adobe has promised to have version 9 ready in the first part of 2007. but until then you might have to limp along on the older version.
