    Unreal Tournament Lag

    Hey there,
Running FC5 on the following specs:
    Pentium 4 2.4ghz
    512mb ram
    ATI Radeon 9200SE 128mb

I used to install it. Apparently every UT installer has a problem of not decompressing the maps. So starting it gave me Sigiot: Iot trap.
I googled the problem, and found a solution, a script that decompresses the maps.
So the game starts, but the mouse moves in bursts, and the game seems to lag a bit.

I used this to install the drivers:

Any idea what could be causing this?

Since I have the GOTY (Game of the Year) edition of Unreal Tournament, I installed it using (one of the only installers that correctly decompresses the maps).

    My system:
    • Intel Core Duo 1.73GHz
    • 1 GB RAM
    • ATI X1400 256MB (HyperMemory)
    • Running Ubuntu

Now, about your problem... I was having the same one until I upgraded the video card driver. It appears that the ATI 8.25.8 drivers had a problem with this. As soon as I upgraded to the latest drivers (8.29.6), all the problems went away . I'm not sure how you install the drivers in Fedora Core, but I used the tutorial at for my Ubuntu installation.
