MP3s won't work
I just installed SuSE 10.1 this morning and I've found that my mp3 files won't work. I downloaded xmms to see if it would work any better than amaroK but it didn't, anyone know what I could do?

I installed everything it said I needed, and it still tells me that the xine engine doesn't support mp3.

Did you install the optional codec packs from YaST?

if you have installed all of the necessary codecs, it may just be a software setup issue, then. Try playing the mp3 with the small cli app madplay, if it works its just a setting you need to adjust in xmms/amorak/whatever.

I got it working, changed the engine AmaroK runs on to Helix and it's working wonderfully. Thanks for all the help guys.
