Playstation 3 questions
I am a linux noob, and I apologize for not being able to bring anything to the table but lots of questions. Here are a few on my mind:
Does PS3 have a BIOS that can be accessed at startup just like any other 'puter?
If so, can I set the BIOS to boot from an external hard drive via USB on startup instead of the PS3 internal HD?
My line of thinking is that I can sell my old computer and just replace it with the PS3 (it's my living room 'puter and all I use it for is playing music and surfing the internet).

Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 for PlayStation 3 will be launch on Monday, November 27. Perhaps that would be the most straight forward solution.

Perhaps you can also look at Sony's instructions on how to install Linux (or other OS) :
