    Installing COD worked fine; running, on the other hand, fails


    I used the loki installer, which worked perfectly, and tried running Call of Duty both with Wine and Cedega. Both times, it didn't like my video card (an ATI Radeon 9000).

    Your video card appears to be missing one or more features required to run Call of Duty.

    You should install the latest drivers for your video card, being sure to uninstall the old drivers first. If you already have the latest drivers, you should completely uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them. This fixes most problems. If the game still doesn't work, it may be that your video card does not have the minimum features required. Please check the readme for more information, including a list of supported video cards.
    Any ideas on what's wrong? I can't see any actual error in that report, except the "couldn't exec"s and then CL_Shutdown might not be good.

    Also, I'd love to install the 1.5 patch, but it says first it can't find the install and then can't find a valid key... I've no idea how to fix that, and can't find a manual install patch.

    FIXED

    Found deep within a CoD thread somewhere that CoD requires s3tc, which Mesa doesn't include. So I found a patch, installed it, and CoD started up fine.
