not loading mp3's
hi, im using fedora core 1, and im trying to load my mp3's to play in xmms, but unfortunatly, when i do, there is no affect. i double click a song or press play in the load dialog and nothing happens. it seems as if the program wasnt told to do anything. my sound card is a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Audio / IEEE 1394 (Firewire). I looked for new drivers, but only windows is supported
During the install of linux, however, i did hear the test music. This is the only sound ive heard my whole linux experience(about 3 months).
ive tried using the command prompt, such asand that doesnt work either. Ive tried and got the same results with Kaboodle as well.Code:xmms [song]
Any ideas?

try jus putting some files into a playlist and choose run from the K Menu i (if you're in KDE, and typee xmms -p, this will play what's in the list. Can you play wav files? Or is it just mp3's that ddon't work?

Are you sure that you have the mp3 plugin loaded for xmms? By default xmms won't play mp3's.
Check the following link for the rpm . Just make usre that you get the right one for your environment.
