Warcraft, PS3, and various questions
So I was speaking to a couple of friends and was wondering if anyone succesfully tried the following:
Buy a Ps3
Buy WOW(world of warcraft)
Load Linux on the Ps3
Load WOW on the Ps3
Play WOW on your 50" LCD in 1080p
I am thinking of buying a PC to do this but I figure that if linux can do a good job of letting me play games and I can buy a ps3 I can kill two birds with one stone.
The problem is whether linux allows you to fully harness the graphic processing power of the Ps3 for 3d shooters and the like. Any ideas?

Why not just buy a decent PC for the $600 you're going to spend getting a PS3 and run World of Warcraft in MS Windows? The only special thing you'd need is perhaps a DVI/HDMI converter to push your computer's display out to the 50inch TV.

There is a release of YDL for the PS3, and there are specific PS3 patches in the mainline kernel. However there is not direct access to the graphics cards in the PS3 under alternative operating systems. This is crippled by the hypervisor to prevent pirating games.

Hi,
I have both Ps3 and PC.And also I have played World of warcraft in both of them. The game is really awesome when playing in PS3 than the PC.
I think in the future the WOW will introduce more newer versions..
