    GRip && Copyprotection

    I bought a copyprotected album, one of those which holds software on the cd....

    Later when I tried to rip and encode it to the HD I froze my comp (Mandrake 9.2), I naturally assume it's the copyprotection, not mandrake.

    I'm from Canada, I know the legal issues regarding circumventing and the DMCA, so I guess it's possible no one has made one for fear of being extradited to the states, but is there a ripper for linux that can do these cd's? I did a couple searches on, but so far nothing has turned up.

    There was an article about this topics on the old TechTV - The Screensavers site, but it's gone now and I don't think they're [Game Network] going to post the old shows.

    Write them and request they post the archives! There was a lot of really good articles there.
