Getting Sound on PCLinuxOS
I just installed PCLinuxOS on a new computer I bought. Everything is going smoothly, but I still have no sound. I am trying to use the on-board sound of an MSI Motherboard. MSI, as the reader probably already knows this, doesn't have linux drivers for their boards. So can someone please point me in the direction I need to take to have sound.
When I go into Control Center to tweek the sound settings, I set my audio to ALSA. When I hit apply, this is the message I get:
"Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (no such device)
The sound server will continue, using null output device."
I get this message with every option I select. In my panel bar, KMIX is opened with a big red "X" over it. Please help.
Thank you,
