playing video files

I am new to linux!!!
how can i play video cd or anykind of video files of common format like mpeg or DAT in my Red Hat 9.0 environment?

You can use Mplayer or Xine to run it, but it's a while since I used RH9 so I think they might be crippled. In that case look up a compatible rpm on rpm.pbone.net

You need to get win32codec no matter what player you choose.
