is it possible to somehow run windows games on linux? or do u have to buy/download linux versions. it just feels kinda stupid to have to switch back and forth to windows for it... and does it differ with distros?

some games can be emulated with winex but beware you have to pay a subscription for this software....

i was reading the FAQ on this site and saw something called Wine or xWine that supposedly ran games as well as other windows apps. would this work as well?

wine is the free version, plus i've had much better luck with it than with cedega
Or it's also possible to install windows in a virtual computer --> running windows in a window in linux (may sound a bit weird :lol:)
The problem with virtual machines is that their performance is about 1/4th the performance of a native one, so running most programs (particularly 3D games) will not work with this approach.Quote:
