Unhappy Wrong openGL vendor

I have a very similar problem:

My system is not direct rendering due to the wrong opengl vendor ("Mesa" instead of "ATI"), but I can't change it!

I've tried sys$ opengl-update ati, but i get a command not found error.

I'm using the fglrx driver.

instead of using opengl-update.....try using eselect opengl set ati..... because opengl-update is deprecated in favour of the latter.....

So just do the following...

1)emerge eselect-opengl
2)eselect opengl set ati
3)source /etc/profile
