Xorg detected your mouse at device /dev/input/mice.
Please check your config if the mouse is still not
operational, as by default Xorg tries to autodetect
the protocol.

Your xorg.conf file is /root/xorg.conf.new

To test the server, run 'X -config /root/xorg.conf.new'
And when I try to test the configuration file, the screen goes black and then returns to the prompt and I get:

So can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Hi Lateralus01,

I have the feeling that xorg.conf.new needs attention. Is this the generated config? You may need to edit / tweak this some more.

Please post that one too.

Do you have a minimal sample xorg conf in /etc/X11/ that you can test?

Regards,

post here the generated xorg.conf.new. Probably it did not recognize your video card or configured it wrong.
