Well finished the install and it seems that I messed something during the kernel compile.

Needed support for /dev file system support (experimental) but the option wasn't there in the kernel options.

So, time to start over I guess.

Actually you don't need this anymore. Well...it's actually deprecated. Just emerge udev && emerge unmerge devfsd from you chrooted env. and reboot to the kernel. That should do her.

Damn, think I just figured out what I did wrong.

I did not do the following:

Code maturity level options --->
  [*] Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers
