Making a bootable flash drive.

Can anyone help me figure out how to make a bootable flashdrive for gentoo? I can't install gentoo off of a cd, due to the computer I want to install on lacking a cd-room drive. It does have usb hookups though.

You could try Unetbootin. You don't need to burn a disk, but you do need a reliable internet connection.
This page could be a good start.

I have cable internet, so fairly reliable. I've heard that a USB flash or CD is a better option though

I quote the first line of the forementioned site:
"Introduction
UNetbootin allows you to create bootable Live USB drives for a variety of Linux distributions from Windows or Linux, without requiring you to burn a CD. "
Gentoo is amongst the supported distro's.
This is what you were asking in your first post.
