Question Updating Gentoo Linux box is failing due to dependency

What do I need to change to fix this problem?

$ sudo emerge --update --deep --newuse world
Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "dev-lang/python[xml]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-lang/python-2.5.4-r3 (Change USE: +xml)
(dependency required by "app-portage/gentoolkit-0.2.4.5" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "world" [argument])

Thanks in advance.

Hello and Welcome.
I believe that you can add xml to your use flags in /etc/make.conf and proceed from there.
Good Luck.

That's for the quick reply. Should I add it here:

USE="x86 apache2 mysql bzip2 perl -postgres readline -snmp tcpd userlocales nptl nptlonly \
-acl -alsa -apm -arts -avi -berkdb -cups -eds -emboss -encode -esd \
-foomaticdb -gdbm -gif -gnome -gpm -gstreamer -gtk -gtk2 -imlib -ipv6
-jpeg -kde -libg++ -libwww -mad -mikmod -motif -mp3 -mpeg -ogg -opengl \
-oss -pam -pdflib -png -python -qt -qt3 -qt4 -quicktime -sdl -spell \
-truetype -vorbis -X -xml -xmms -xv -zlib"

Yes that would be the place. Or you could just remove the -xml that's already there.
Anything with a - in front of it will not get pulled in, if you want to use xml just remove the - and you should be good to go.
